OPEN DANCE CALL:
Marriott Theatre will hold an open dance call for non-union dancers/singers on Monday, February 24th at the Marriott Theatre Rehearsal Warehouse (1342 Barclay Blvd, Buffalo Grove, 60089) for their upcoming production of West Side Story (rehearsal starts 7/23/20, contemplated closing date 10/11/20). Seeking dancers with strong ballet and jazz technical background. Male-identifying dancers - bring knee pads, ballet shoes, and jazz sneakers. Female-identifying dancers - bring ballet shoes, character heels and knee length skirt. All dancers should be prepared to do a ballet and jazz combo. Male-identifying, be prepared to do some knee work in the jazz combination. Dance call for non-AEA male-identifying dancers will take place at 10am, and non-AEA female-identifying dancers will be seen at 3:30pm. All transgender and gender non-conforming artists are welcome to come to any call where you feel most comfortable. Bring one 16 bar song (equivalent to one minute in length) and a second contrasting selection in case the artistic team needs to hear more. Please bring music in your key and an updated H/R. OPEN SINGING CALL:
Marriott Theatre will hold general auditions for non-union actors on Friday, February 14th, from 10am to 6pm at Stage 773 (1225 W. Belmont Ave, 60657) for their 2020 production of West Side Story. Seeking locally based performers only at this time (must have housing in the Chicagoland area). All ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition. No performers under 18 are being seen at this time. Bring one 16 bar song (equivalent to one minute) and a second contrasting selection in case the artistic team needs to hear more. Please bring music in your key and an updated headshot and resume. An accompanist will be provided. Signups, character descriptions, and show info can be found at
MarriottTheatre.com/auditions. Signup link will be active starting at 10am on Friday, February 7th. For AEA auditions (taking place on February 13th) please visit the AEA portal. Due to limited space at these auditions, we WILL BE ACCEPTING VIDEO SUBMISSIONS. Details on how to submit for West Side Story are below. Videos should only be for West Side Story (and not any other show in our 2020 season) and must be received by February 14th.
Video Submissions:
1. Upload your submission to YouTube, and include one 16 bar cut - 1 minute in length (and a dance reel if appropriate).
2. Please include your name and all pertinent contact information in the description.
3. If you have a website that includes a headshot and resume, please list that link in the description. If you do not have a website, please include a digital headshot and resume when you email the link for your YouTube submission.
4. Email your video submission to
