Azusa Renaissance Theater is hosting OPEN auditions for our new original play, "TO MY NINTH GRADE SELF".
If you had the chance to tell your former self something to avoid the stress and troubles of high school what would you say?
"To my ninth grade self, or anyone else like me…"
This play is based on the stories and interviews of actual students, teachers, and citizens of the city of Azusa. It hopes to tell the importance of pursuing your own story and the value of education.

Yourself! If you have a headshot and resume, feel free to bring it. We will have you read from the script. No experience necessary.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Everyone! Below is a breakdown of the characters we're looking to cast:
Character Breakdown (Only Auditioning Alexa, Andy, and Abuelita):
ALEXA: (female, 17) Senior in high school. Strong and independent.
CECILIA JOHNSON: (female, 25-40) English teacher. Passionate, cares about her students deeply.
ANDY: (trans*, 17) Alexa's best friend. Senior in high school. ASB President. Outspoken and spunky.
ALICIA SANCHEZ: (female, 40's) Alexa's mom.
ABUELITA: (female, 60's) Alexa's grandmother
SERENA: (female, 17) Senior in high school. A little superficial and into herself.
RACHEL: (female, 17) Senior in high school. Kind at heart, but wants to fit in. Follows Serena's example.
