When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West in order to earn his help.
We are seeking performers with strong acting, dancing and singing skills.
Please prepare a 32 bar musical selection, song choice should fit with the era and character of the show. Please also prepare a dramatic monologue.
Casting most roles: (Some performers will be expected to play multiple roles)
Dorothy Gale: Age 15-25
A strong singer who also moves well on stage; must not be allergic to dogs.
The Scarecrow: Age 18-50
A strong singer/dancer with an "honest" quality, a sympathetic and optimistic friend, lovable and clumsy, must be an excellent dancer, acrobatic skills preferred.
The Tinman: Age 18-50
A singer/strong dancer, charming and thoughtful, a kind-hearted romantic.
The Cowardly Lion: Age 18-50
A singer who also moves well on stage, cuddly actor with excellent comic timing.
Uncle Henry: Age 35-70

Rehearsals are from October-November 2017, Performances are from December 2 – February 18 (with possible extension). The weekly performance schedule is 5 shows, Friday through Sunday with two show times on Saturdays & Sundays.
