Newtown Arts Company is looking for several people to round out our cast of
The Wedding Singer!
Saturday, January 22nd from 2:00pm-6:00pm
Location: The Manor House
206 Hidden Valley Lane
Newtown PA 18940 (Turn right at the stop sign at the end of Hidden Valley Lane and come into the big house.)
Callbacks will be held Monday, January 24th by invitation only
Performances are:
Fri and Sat, April 22 & 23 (7:30pm)
Thurs, Fri, Sat; April 28, 29, 30 (7:30pm)
Sunday, May 1 (2pm)
ALL actors, crew, staff, and volunteers MUST be vaccinated. We will be checking vaccine proof and IDs at auditions.
Please note: all roles are nonpaid, non-equity.
TO AUDITION:
~Sign up for a time slot. Appointments preferred, but we may be able to accommodate walk-ups. If you are interested in auditioning but can’t make these times please contact us at tickets@NewtownArtsCompany.com, as other accommodations may be made.
~Print and complete the audition form from our website in advance and bring it with you. (Make sure to include schedule conflicts!)
~Bring a head shot or recent photo, and a resume (if you have one)
~Prepare to sing 16-32 measures of a Broadway song that demonstrates vocal ability. Please bring your own sheet music. We will have an accompanist.
~You will be asked to dance, be sure to have comfortable clothes. Women please bring character shoes and sneakers. Men please bring sneakers.

The following roles are open, and some actors may be cast in multiple roles.
Principals
ROBBIE HART - Rock Tenor, Vocal Range: B3-C6, Age Range 18-30. Strong singer. Ability to play guitar a plus. Great comedic timing. Basic movement. A musician and lead singer for a trio that plays for weddings. In love with love until Linda leaves him at the altar and breaks his heart. Very charismatic, yet insecure, with a “puppy
GEORGE - Baritone, Vocal Range: C4 – A5 (strong falsetto), Age Range 20-30. Strong character singer who can rap and has good falsetto. Plays keyboard for the trio. Boy George type. He is sensitive and somewhat flamboyant. The foil to Sammy's super guy attitude.
GLEN - Baritone, vocal range: D4-B5, age range 30-40. Strong acting, singing, and movement, Julia’s fiancé. A Wall Street broker. He is rich, shallow, and materialistic. Consistently tries to buy Julia’s love with money. He is a bit of a womanizer.
Ensemble to portray various roles including guests at weddings, office workers, Vegas impersonators, mall patrons, etc.
