For auditions, please prepare 32 measures of an up-beat song. Auditions will be sung acappella. Dance auditions and reading for roles will occur at callbacks.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:
The ages listed in these descriptions are the ages of the characters; we will consider children and adult actors younger than the ages listed.
Mischievous Peter Rabbit, disobeying the instruction of his mother, ventures into Mr. McGregor's garden only to find himself in danger of being captured! This classic children's story, featuring beautiful illustrations, has been loved for generations.
Female Roles
Mrs. Rabbit: Harried mother of Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton Tail and Peter. Song: “Mind your Parents”. Age 20+
Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton Tail: Active daughters of Mrs. Rabbit. Full of the dickens, but generally respectful and obedient. Ensemble singing in multiple songs, with solo lines. Ages 8-13
Alice McGregor: Wife of Elmo; her goal in life is to keep Elmo from making a fool of himself. Featured singer in “One of these Days” and “Bouncing Basket”. Age 25+
Cat: A pest that doesn’t like rabbits. Ensemble singing, physical comedy skills required, dance skills a plus.
Male Roles
Peter: Adventurous and loyal son of Mrs. Rabbit. This a lead role with a lot of stage time, so we need a hard-working actor. Lead vocals in multiple songs. Moderate stage combat and dance skills. Age 12+
Benjamin Bunny: Fearless and not-so-wise friend who constantly steers Peter into trouble. Moderate stage combat and dance skills required. Featured vocals in multiple songs. Age 12+
Mr. Bunny: Benjamin’s father, stern but affectionate, he is never able to fully contain Benjamin’s adventurous spirit. Age 25+. Ensemble singing.
Elmo McGregor: Frustrated farmer at war with the Rabbits who eat his crop. Strong character role. Featured singer in several songs. Age 25+
Gender Neutral Roles
Kem and Caw: 2 crows that are very much vaudeville act. Comic-timing and physical comedy skills required. Age 14+ Featured singers in multiple songs.
