Synopsis:

The Outsiders. Beloved by fans all over the world, The Outsiders comes to Chicago. You've read the book. You've seen the film. Now experience The Outsiders like never before, live onstage in an intimate theatre.

The Home Creative invites you to go back in time to Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1960s for this coming-of-age story told by fourteen-year-old Ponyboy Curtis. The youngest of the Greasers, Ponyboy struggles to find his place amongst his fellow outcasts. On the other side of town, the Socs seem to have it made. They jump Greasers for kicks to pass the time of their privileged lives. Cherry, a Soc, shares a connection with Ponyboy due to his sensitive nature and love of poetry. A connection that her boyfriend, Bob, will not accept. What ensues is a gut-wrenching story of love and loss that comes to a head with the unforgettable line, Stay gold, Ponyboy.

Reimagined for an intimate, immersive theatre experience, Ponyboy, Johnny, and their gang of socially outcast Greasers come to life in this heart-warming production of The Outsiders.

Available Roles:

Here are the roles still available:

  • RANDY: a Soc, late teens. Bob's best friend. Starts out a bully and troublemaker but changes after losing Bob. Must be able to deliver a very emotionally intense monologue.
  • MRS/MR O'BRIANT: a parent, can be male or female presenting
  • JERRY: a parent, can be male or female presenting, accompanies Ponyboy to the hospital
  • DOCTOR: at the hospital, can be male or female presenting
  • NURSE: at the hospital, can be male or female presenting
  • MR/MRS SYME: Ponyboy's English teacher, can be male or female presenting
  • PAUL: early 20s, a Soc, challenges Darry during the rumble because the were football teammates in high school
  • Soc/Greaser Ensemble: will fill in scenes throughout the show and will participate in a very intense, professionally choreographed Rumble near the end of the show. The Rumble scene blew audiences away in our previous run and is certainly a highlight of the production.
  • We will also be casting understudies for all lead roles. Understudies will be guaranteed at least two performances in their role(s).
