Audition for Maverick Theater's summer production: THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE!
Journey back to the American Frontier, 1890. "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is a classic story of good versus evil, law versus the gun, one man versus Liberty Valance. A tale of love, hope and revenge set against the vicious backdrop of a lawless Wild West.
This is a new stage adaption from the short story which was the basis for the 1962 Paramount Picture, directed by John Ford, starring James Stewart, Lee Marvin and John Wayne.
Casting men with a strong cowboy bravado, basically a man's man.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Ransome Foster, age 25- 35, A man from the East Coast (Jimmy Stewart)
Bert Barricune, 40 - 60, A cowboy and gunslinger (John Wayne)
Liberty Valance, 35-65 - An imposing outlaw and leader of a gang (Lee Marvin)
Jim 'The Reverend' Mosten - A black bar keep at the local saloon (Woody Strode)
