Encore! founders and L.A. actors/directors, Joshua Branson Barker and Mindy Barker, are excited to visit their hometown of Tulsa to produce the exciting stage version of their book, which will be published later this year. See below for available roles and submission instructions.
ABOUT THE SHOW: A classic fairy tale with both a hilarious and dark twist! The vain and beautiful sorceress, Mischief, has developed her magic powers and taken over the kingdom as the Evil Queen. However, she is threatened by the beauty of one of her handmaidens, and orders her Huntsman to kill her. Little does she know, her Huntsman is in love with the maiden, so he whisks her away to a safe house under the care of seven dwarves. As darkness falls upon the kingdom, the Fairy Council releases The Phantom Fairy from prison so he can work with Prince Charming and Puss in Boots on a quest to find the Dark Scrolls. While on their mission, they encounter and question many familiar fairy tale characters and hilarious antics ensue, along with exciting sword fights, battles, and magical dance moves!
PERFORMANCES: August 15-17, 2014 at Tulsa Little Theatre
REHEARSALS: Begin on July 8 and will be held at Midwest Ministries, located at 1603 E. 141st St. in Jenks/Glenpool, OK. We generally rehearse 3-4 days per week, on a combination of weeknights (no Wednesdays) and weekends, scheduled around actors' conflicts (must be provided in advance). Most actors will not be called to all rehearsals. Attendance is mandatory for dress rehearsals on August 13 and 14 (6:00-11:00pm), plus all performances.
Unlike some theatre companies, we do NOT charge actors to participate in our productions. Participation is fun and FREE!

WHEN: Sunday, June 29 (Submissions due by Friday, June 27 at noon)
WHERE: Midwest Ministries, 1603 E. 141st St. Jenks/Glenpool, OK (41st St. between Elwood and Peoria)

INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING? To be considered for casting, please follow the submission instructions carefully:
1. Please e-mail Info@Encore-Tulsa.com with "LOST PAGES AUDITION" in the subject heading.
2. In your e-mail, include your name, parent name (if actor is under 18), phone number, age, height, and the role(s) for which you are interested in auditioning. Please give a list/description of your acting experience/education, or attach your resume (see step 3).
3. Please attach a current photo that is no larger than 250kb in JPG format, with your name as the filename (JohnSmith.JPG). Attach your resume, if you have one, in PDF format.
Submissions are due by Friday, June 27 at noon. If selected to audition, you will receive an e-mail with your audition appointment time, plus further details.
AVAILABLE ROLES (as of 6/12/14):
SNOW WHITE (female, late teens - 20's) Sweet, beautiful, and a hopeless romantic. Typical ingenue, leading lady.
EVIL QUEEN/MISCHIEF (female, 20's) Beautiful, vain, evil, and selfish, she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. She is threatened by Snow's beauty and orders the Huntsman to kill her. Stage combat experience (fencing a plus) is required. Dance experience/training is a plus.
MALEFICENT (female, late teens - 20's) Maleficent is a respected member of the Fairy Council and an expert in Dark Magic. Focused, determined, and easily annoyed, she investigates the whereabouts of the Dark Scrolls. Stage combat experience (fencing a plus) is required. Dance experience/training is a plus.
PUSS IN BOOTS (male/female, teen or older) Wild and adventurous, Puss in Boots comes to Snow White's aid and helps Prince Charming and Phantom save the kingdom. Requirements: Excellent comedic timing, Spanish accent (or ability to learn), and stage combat.
KITTY (female, teen or older) Puss in Boot's partner in adventure, she helps him in his top secret mission. Kitty is very quick and clever, but very sweet. Excellent comedic timing, and Spanish accent is preferred.
SEVEN DWARVES (male/female, ages 6-12) Seven cute, quirky, witty children to play the roles of the Dwarves. Must have excellent comedic timing and big personalities! Note: Height is more important than age.
QUEEN FAIRY (female, ages 30's-50's) The matriarch of the Fairy Council, she leads the fairies in their quest to help Prince Charming reclaim his kingdom and find the sacred Dark Scrolls.
FAIRY GODMOTHER (female, late teens - 30's) She is kind and beautiful, but can be bold and sassy if the occasion calls for it. She has a hilarious lip sync / dance number, so actress must be comfortable with being fun and flamboyant!
FLORA, FAUNA, MERRYWEATHER (female, teens - 20's / will consider slightly younger for Merryweather) Three sassy, inseparable fairies who spy on the Evil Queen, Phantom, and Maleficent. We're looking for vibrant personalities, excellent comedic timing, and interesting voices/accents (Brooklyn, Valley Girl, etc.). Dance experience/training is preferred for one dance scene.
HUMPTY DUMPTY (male, teen or older) The iconic nursery rhyme character, moments before his notorious "fall." He is mean and sarcastic, hilariously taunting the heroes while on their mission. Excellent comedic timing a must!
RED RIDING HOOD (female, age 10-16) She is smart, kind, and wise beyond her years, but holds a grudge against Phantom for stealing her Grandmother's clothes when he needed a quick disguise.
MERLIN (male, teen or older) Scared and frustrated after being kidnapped for questioning about the whereabouts of the Dark Scrolls.
JACK (male, age 10-16) Jack is also kidnapped and questioned, but is more capable of remaining calm in the situation.
GOLDILOCKS (female, age 5-10) The ring leader of her sassy group of friends, Goldilocks has a moment of weakness at the smell of hot porridge and is kidnapped and questioned. Luckily, she regains her wits and escapes in a hilarious scene.
MISS MUFFET, BO PEEP (female, age 5-10) Cute, sweet girls. They are also kidnapped with Goldilocks, and they work together to escape.
QUEEN'S HANDMAIDENS (female, teen or older) Ladies who are enslaved and work under the Evil Queen's tyranny.
FAIRIES (male/female, all ages) A variety of actors to play fairies, who are members of the Fairy Council, and come to Phantom's aid in the climactic battle scene.
*NOTE: Some young actors under 8 years old may be double cast in their role, meaning two actors play the same role. Each actor has one dress rehearsal and two performances, and less rehearsal time. This prevents young children with little or no stage experience from becoming overwhelmed or exhausted from the time commitment that theatre requires. This also allows us to better work around your conflicts, if you don't want your child rehearsing 4 days a week.
