Little Radical Theatrics is thrilled to announce auditions for its Fall 2022 All Ages Community Theater production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”.
*NOTE we are committed to non traditional casting for ALL roles. We HIGHLY encourage all genders, body types, ages and ethnicities to audition for ANY open role that they are interested in! The ONLY role that is cast is Clopin. ALL other roles are open! *

Performances November 18th-20th (5 performances) at The Lowndes Shakespeare Center 812 E Rollins St Orlando, Fl.
Rehearsals begin on or around September 12thand run Monday-Thursday’s 6:30/7-10/10:30 at 10771 International Dr Orlando in the Rivers Room.We will make sure school aged children are released earlier. Exact schedule will depend on role and we do work around performers’ conflicts

Below please find a breakdown of the roles!
Quasimodo - The bell-ringer of Notre Dame and Claude Frollo’s charge. Lonely and staunchly obedient to Frollo, he possesses a vivid imagination that brings to life the bells and gargoyles of the cathedral. Despite his shyness and uncertainty, he quickly befriends Esmeralda. Big-hearted, and brave when need be. Open to all genders, ethnicities and body types . Extremely strong singer and actor ages 17-35.
Frollo - Archdeacon of Notre Dame Cathedral and the most powerful cleric in Paris, he is the reluctant caretaker of Quasimodo. He will do whatever it takes to rid the city of the Roma “vermin,” even as he lusts after Esmeralda. Calculating, manipulative, and obsessive. Open to non binary and male presenting performers of all ethnicities and body types ages 25-66+. Extremely strong singer and actor
Esmeralda - A beautiful and free-spirited Romani woman who possesses the strong sense of justice and morality that Frollo lacks. Compassionate, she frees Quasimodo from the frenzied mob at the Feast of Fools and, against her better judgment, falls for the cocky Phoebus. Open to non binary and female presenting performers of all body types. Seeking Romani or BIPOC ( Black, Indigenous, East Asian, Latinix, South Asian, Hawaiian and Pacific Islander) performer for this role ages 18-35. Extremely strong singer and actor who can move very well or dance.
Phoebus - Returning to Paris after serving in the war, Phoebus takes up his new position as Captain of the Cathedral Guard. Overconfident yet charming, this handsome, strong soldier makes the ladies swoon, yet his moral compass is also strong, and he openly defies the corrupted Frollo. Open to non binary and male presenting performers of all ethnicities and body types. Strong singer and actor ages 20-40.
Clopin - CAST
Five Statues - Will function as Quasimodo’s stone friends: Victor, Hugo and Laverne from the movie mixed with The Muses from Hercules. Open to all genders, body types ages and ethnicities. Must all be strong soloist singers with the ability to sing complex harmonies.
Strong actors with distinct personalities.
Frederic Charlus - Lieutenant of the Cathedral Guard and loyal friend to Phoebus. Open to all genders, ethnicities and body types ages 15 - 30. Strong actor and singer.
Florika - A Romani woman and Quasimodo’s mother. Open to non binary and female prsesenting actors of all body types. Seeking Romani or BIPOC ( Black, Indigenous, East Asian, Latinix, South Asian, Hawaiian, Pacific Islander) performers for this role. EXTREMELY strong classical Soprano singer and strong actor. Will double in the ensemble. Ages 20-40.
Jehan - Claude’s reckless younger brother. With Florika, he fathers Quasimodo, who he leaves in his brother’s care. Wild, passionate, and strong-willed. Open to all genders, body types and ethnicities. Strong actor and singer ages 17-35. Will double in the ensemble.
Saint Aphrodisius - A stained glass window that comes to life. Open to all genders, body types, ethnicities and ages. Strong singer. Will double in the ensemble.
Father Dupin - A priest of Notre Dame and Claude and Jehan’s guardian. Open to all genders, ethnicities and body types. Strong actor and singer ages 40-75+. Will double in the ensemble.
King Louis XI - King of France, nicknamed the prudent. Open to all genders, ethnicities and body types. Strong actor ages 20-75+. Will double in the ensemble
Madame - Owner of a brothel and safe haven for the Roma. Open to all genders, ethnicities and body types. Strong actor ages 20-75+. Will double in the ensemble.
Roma Ens - Strong actors, singers with movement ability to play Roma. Open to all ages, genders and body types. Seeking Romani or BIPOC ( Black, Indigenous, East Asian, Latinix, South Asian, Hawaiian, Pacific Islander) performers for these roles. Plenty of solo singing, featured dancing and speaking lines.
Citizens of Paris, Soldiers, Congregants - Strong actors and singers with movement ability to play citizens of Paris, soldiers, congregants. All ages, genders, ethnicities and body types. Plenty of solo singing, featured dancing and speaking lines.
