Synopsis: Based on the cult hit film of the same name, The Full Monty, is a ten-time Tony nominated musical, filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show.
The powerhouse team of Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) cook up a thrilling plotline. While spying on their wives on a girl’s night out, a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo witnesses how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers.
Jealous, out of work and emasculated, the men come up with a bold (and unclothed) way to make quick cash. In preparing, they find themselves exposed- not only physically, but emotionally. As they conquer their fears and prejudices, the men come to discover that they’re stronger together and the strength that they find in each other gives them the courage to ‘let it go’ as individuals.
The Full Monty is a story full of heart. To the very end, the audience will be wondering if the group of lovable misfits can really pull off their plan. With raucous, razor-sharp humour and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heart-warming upbeat comedy is surely a show for the most-game musical theatre gents! As in the film and on Broadway, we are searching for cast who are unafraid and willing to go ... THE FULL MONTY!
