The Divas follows the adventures of two seasoned, prima donnas actresses as they navigate their way across a life of theatre through seven short plays in one audacious evening.
Those auditioning will be asked to read from the sides provided and sing a few bars acapella of a broadway musical song. All cast and crew must be fully vaccinated before rehearsals start (roughly 6/10). In order to adhere to Covid safety protocols, we are asking actors to reserve an audition slot via Sign Up Genius.

Character Breakdown
Bethel Astor…Ages from late 50's to early 70's during the course of the plays. She appears to be “upper crust”; arrogant, proud and conceited, with the right amount of insecurity any auditioning actress may feel. She is positive that she is the best actress in the room, with the correct method to inhabit a part. A Boston accent is preferred; she is a bit of a wisenheimer.
Clarice Madison…Ages from late 50’s to early 70’s during the course of the plays. While appearing less arrogant than Bethel, she is no less confident in her abilities as an actress, and her superiority over Bethel as an actor, while appearing more vulnerable than Bethel. She appears to be more bourgeoisie than Bethel, but no less of a wisecracker, sans Boston accent.
Olivia Trent…Slightly younger than the other two (about 65 at the time of her appearance). She is attractive, self-confident, and resourceful. A good actress, she is accustomed to getting what she wants.
Glenna Trent…20 years old and Olivia’s daughter, is playing the part of Laura Wingfield in “The Glass Menagerie”. She appears as Laura is defined; fragile, shy, and delicate.
Michael…In his 50s, the director of “The Glass Menagerie”.
Daryl…A young public relations man, with a thick, Boston accent. A bit of a schmoozer, he knows how to speak to people and applies this talent when dealing with the Divas.
Malcolm…The director of “Death of a Salesman” in the afterlife, he is middle-aged, with a sartorial directorial affectation.
