to perform in a hit Broadway musical on the King Center Stage!

Calling all incoming high school freshmen, as of school year fall 2014, as well as young adults up to age 22 who enjoy musical theatre. The King Center for the Performing Arts of Eastern Florida State College and The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse are proud to present the third annual Summer Musical Theatre Project June 16th through July 19th.
This is your chance to bring your appetite and desire to participate in a program that will develop your musical theatre arts and new skills learned from this collaborative project.
Through special arrangements with Music Theatre International and under the direction of Dr. Anastacia Hawkins-Smith, this five week project will focus on skills such as auditioning, acting and stage experience, casting, dance, narration, orchestra and behind the scene support roles. The project also includes chat backs with industry guests and educational studies on musical theatre.
Classes and rehearsals will be held daily Mon-Fri., 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm from June 16th – July 19th. The project culminates with three performances of Thoroughly Modern Millie, featuring the awesome talents of the project participants, on the King Center stage July 18 & 19. No classes or rehearsals are scheduled on Friday, July 4th.
Auditions will be held Monday June 16th beginning at 12:30 pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts. Anyone arriving after this time or without prior registration is not guaranteed an audition. If selected into the project, it is the responsibility of the participant to be at all rehearsals, classes and performances.
Early bird registration runs from April 2nd through May 23rd. Early registration must be accompanied by the $25 registration fee postmarked before Friday, May 23rd. Registration received after May 23rd is $35. Applications are processed on a first come basis and is non-refundable.
Project tuition is affordably priced at $325 for 5 weeks of hands-on training and study of musical theatre. Scholarships may be available based on financial need.
