STAGEWORKS THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR

THE WIZARD OF OZ

Be A Part of the Magic of Oz at the Berry Center!

Stageworks Theatre announces open auditions for the final show of its 2016-2017 season, The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, music and lyrics Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg. The show runs July 28 - Aug. 13, 2017 at the Berry Center.

Auditions are scheduled in three groups:

• Early Auditions - March 18: For convenience of students on spring break, who are at least 15 years of age by May 15, 2017. Callbacks, if required, March 19.

• Open Auditions - April 1: Anybody 15+ who did not attend the March 18 auditions. Callbacks, if required, April 2.

• Video Auditions for children: Ages 9 - 14 by May 15, 2017 or for anybody unable to attend live auditions. Video submission details are on the website.

http://www.stageworkshouston.org/auditions), where an audition appointment can also be scheduled. Auditions are held at Stageworks Theatre 10760 Grant Road, Houston, Texas 77070.

Rehearsals will take place three or four evenings per week generally from 6:30-10 p.m. and every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and/or 1-5 p.m.

Eleven performances at the 450+ seat Berry Center are scheduled to run from July 28-Aug. 13, 2017. Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m.

Auditions for all shows are open to the community and parts may be cast with actors of any ethnicity. We're looking for all ages and types of dancers, actors and singer/dancer/actors. We are also looking for featured dancers. The ability to move without restriction and learn basic choreography is required for casting.
