AUDITIONS FOR AGATHA CHRISTIE’S THE UNEXPECTED GUEST TO BE HELD IN SANTA PAULA

The Santa Paula Theater Center is holding open auditions for Agatha Christie’s thriller The Unexpected Guest on Tuesday, May 3 and Wed, May 4 from 7-9 pm at the Santa Paula Theater Center, 125 South 7th Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060. Final auditions and callbacks will be held on Saturday, May 7 from 1-4 pm at the Theater. Auditions are on a walk in basis, no appointment is necessary and will consist of cold readings from the script. For more information, visit

All roles are open and all ethnicities welcome for The Unexpected Guest. Roles include the following: LAURA WARWICK: late 20’s – 30’s, Kind and caring, Richard Warwick’s wife; MICHAEL STARKWEDDER: 30’s-40’s, Rugged outdoor look, not polished but quick thinker; INSPECTOR THOMAS: 40’s – 60’s, Good poker face with dry sarcastic attitude; JULIAN FARRARR: 30’s – 50’s, Politician with soldiery aspect; MRS. BENNETT: 40’s – 60’s; Organized, alert, nosey – she runs the household; JAN WARWICK: 18 – 20’s; Excitable young man with an innocent sweetness about him; HENRY ANGELL: 30’s-60’s, Manservant with proper manners but shifty untrusting personality; MRS. WARWICK: 50’s – 70’s, Commanding and alert, strong personality, Richard’s mother; SERGEANT CADWALLER: 30’s – 60’s Poetic and soft spoken, somewhat unobserving; and RICHARD WARWICK: 30’s – 60’s, Deceased victim in a wheelchair. Non-speaking role.

In The Unexpected Guest, on a dark and foggy evening a lost stranger seeks refuge in a nearby country estate only to discover that he has stumbled onto the scene of a murder. Agatha Christie's delicious tour-de-force features a dizzying array of twists and turns. Audiences are truly kept guessing until the very end. SPTC’s production of The Unexpected Guest will be directed by Fred Helsel, with Leslie Nichols producing, Barbara Pedziwiatr creating the costumes, lighting by Gary Richardson, and stage managed by Allan Noel.

Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest is the third production in Season 2016 at the Santa Paula Theater Center. Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 4 pm from June 24 through July 31. Tickets are $20 Adults, $18 Students and Seniors, and $15 Children 12 & under.
