THE STINKY CHEESE MAN AND OTHER FAIRLY STUPID TALES - Columbus Children's Theatre Non Equity Auditions

Columbus Children’s Theatre will hold open auditions for The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales a play with music adapted by John Glore from the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. Auditions will be held Sunday December 16 and Tuesday December 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Columbus Children’s Theatre Park Street Theatre located at 512 Park Street. Call-back auditions will be held on Wednesday December 19th at the same time and location. This production will be directed by Ryan Scarlata.

Actors must prepare a short 30—60 second comedic monologue, poem or scene (in which they play all characters) and a 16 bar cut of a comedic song. Please bring sheet music. Pianist will be provided. This is a play with music, not a musical-all actors must be able to carry a tune, but not necessarily be a soloist. It is more important that the song is acted well. This show is very physical, dress comfortably for movement Stinky Cheese Man performances will run February 7 – 24, 2013 Rehearsals will be held Sundays from 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm and Monday through Friday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm beginning January 6, 2013. It’s happily ever laughter in these warped fairy tales – based on the Caldecott Honor book. This show is a musical that promises a gaggle of giggles for all ages. Join the narrator, Jack, as he tries to get the audience through “Little Red Riding Shorts”, “Cinderumplestiltskin”, “The Boy Who Cried ‘Cow Patty’” and “Jack’s Bean Problem”.

OPEN AUDITIONS: Adult actors (male and female 18 and older) and Youth actors (male and female ages 10 and older) are needed for Columbus Children's Theatre’s production of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. All actors will portray multiple roles.
