SYNOPSIS:
An articulate and romantically idealistic playwright receives a challenge from his wife - take the inept play of a political prisoner named Brodie and rework it into a theatrical triumph. In the process, the writer must show his wife that Brodie is more of a thug than a victim of political repression, all the while challenging his own long-held concepts of love, marriage and fidelity.
CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
Henry (M-40-ish): Henry is married to Charlotte and in love with Annie. He is a playwright; brilliant with words and infinitely less brilliant with emotions. (Standard British Accent required.)
Annie (F-30-ish): Annie is married to Max and in love with Henry. She is an actress and is much more comfortable with emotions than words. (Standard British Accent required.)
Charlotte (F-35-ish): Henry's wife. Also an actress; very witty and self assured. Probably does a lot of Noel Coward. (Standard British Accent required.)
Max (M-40-ish): An actor, married to Annie. He's Henry, if Henry were a really good looking actor and not a brilliant writer. Or, at least, he's what Henry writes his altar ego to be. (Standard British Accent required.)
Billy (M-early-mid 20s): An actor who Annie meets. Young, brash, charming. (Standard British Accent and Scottish Accent required.)
Debbie (F-17 years old): Henry and Charlotte's overly mature daughter. One scene, but it's a good one! (Standard British Accent required.)
Brodie (M-early to mid 20s): A Scottish soldier and political prisoner. Loud, boorish, and not all that political, when it comes right down to it. (Scottish Accent Required.)
