Transforming children's lives through choral music
About the Phoenix Children's Chorus
With members ranging from eight to eighteen years of age, the Phoenix Children's Chorus has grown from a small organization of just 35 members, to its current program comprised of seven choirs, three accompanists and four directors with over 300 children participating in performances and guest appearances. The choirs include Prep, Cadet, Concert, Bravo and Encore where choristers learn the basic elements of vocal technique, performance and musicianship skills. The Chorus' ongoing mission is to provide a comprehensive choral music education in a positive learning environment in order to foster team effort, self-discipline and self-esteem for young people in Phoenix.
The Phoenix Children's Chorus has performed with many of the Valley's top arts organizations including The Phoenix Symphony, ASU's Symphonic Chorus & Wind Symphony, The ASU Choral Union, The Arizona Arts Chorale, AZ Musicfest, The Sonoran Desert Chorale and the Orpheus Chorus of Phoenix. In addition, the award-winning PCC touring choirs have traveled to Europe, Russia, Canada, China and throughout the United States to serve as musical ambassadors. Working jointly with The Sister Cities of Phoenix, the Chorus has travelled to two of Phoenix's Sister Cities, Ennis, Ireland and Hermosillo, Mexico and performed in the Vatican in Rome and Catania, Sicily in June 2012 and will be touring this summer to Argentina.
