Children’s Auditions for The Nutcracker. José Mateo Ballet Theatre invites aspiring young performers of all ages to audition for the performance opportunity of a lifetime! The Company has embarked on a state-wide search for 200 talented children to fill 3 casts in roles of Party Children, Mice, Soldiers, Angels, Court Attendants, Polichinelles, and Clara.
In celebration of its 30th Anniversary, José Mateo Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker back in Boston’s historic Theatre District at The Cutler Majestic Theatre (Nov. 27-Dec.6) after a decade and has added a week of performances at Dorchester’s glorious Strand Theatre (Dec. 11-20). All children cast in the production will perform at both theaters.
WANTED:
Children and teenagers ages 6*-18
*Previous dance experience is not required for children ages 6-10

José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker is the only local professional production to hold open auditions for young dancers outside its own school.
Cuban-born José Mateo is Founder and Artistic Director of José Mateo Ballet Theatre, one of America’s leading producers of new ballets, and the area’s most innovative school for quality ballet training.
