The Family Theatre Company is casting for its upcoming production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN to be performed Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the entire month of July 2012 at WESTCHESTER BROADWAY THEATRE. There are a total of 23 performances and we will be rehearsing for the month of June during evenings and weekends. Seeking Non-Union performers for Family Theatre Company's production of THE MUSIC MAN at Westchester Broadway Theatre. Some pay. Rehearsals will take place in Westchester County. Seeking - All principal roles (male & female), male & female singers (all ages), male & female dancers (all ages).

Auditions will be held May 20 at 12pm (male & female singers for all roles) and at 4pm (male & female dancers) at Pearl Studios, 500 Eighth Ave., 4th fl., NYC. Sign in for singers begins at 11am. Sign in for dancers begins at 3pm. Open Call procedures in effect for NYC auditions.

Auditions will also be held May 21 at 5pm (male & female singers for all roles) at Westchester Broadway Theatre, 1 Broadway Plaza, Elmsford, NY 10523. For Westchester auditions, singers should visit www.lytshows.org or call (914) 741-4205 to sign up for an appointment.

Singers please prepare 16 bars appropriate for the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key, an accompanist will be provided. Singers may be asked to stay and dance, so be prepared. Dancers, be warmed up and ready to dance. Dress appropriately. Women should bring both character shoes and flat dance shoes. Men, please wear character or jazz shoes. All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to attend. Some pay. Character Breakdown: Prof. Harold Hill: Male 25-40. Baritone; A Flat-High F. Traveling salesman and con man that dupes the entire town of River City, Iowa. Marian Paroo: Female 20-30. Soprano; Low G-High A. Uptight town librarian who falls for Harold Hill. Marcellus Washburn: Male 20-25. Tenor; G-High A. Comedic sidekick and Harold’s old partner. Mayor George Shin: Male 35-45. Proud local politician who can’t seem to control his own family. Eulalie Mackecknie Shin: Female 35-45. Alto; D-D. The mayor’s peacock wife, a real socialite. Winthrop Paroo: Male 9-11. Alto; C-E Flat. Very shy, speaks with a lisp. Mrs. Paroo: Female 35-45. Mezzo-Soprano; A Flat-E Flat. Marian’s nosey Irish mother. Olin Britt: Male 25-35. Barbershop Quartet Bass Oliver Hix: Male 25-35. Barbershop Quartet Baritone Ewart Dunlop: Male 25-35. Barbershop Quartet Tenor Jacey Squires: Male 25-35. Barbershop Quartet High Tenor Alma Hix: Female 25-35. Pick-a-Little Lady, gossipy friend to the mayor’s wife. Mrs. Squires: Female 25-35.
