KING
Male, late 30's - looks younger, African American. Strong and virile. A great man with a strong vision and a heavy burden that is always weighing. He is confident, sexy, and flirtatious. The actor playing the role should be able to convey King’s humanity moment to moment, yet capture his greatness at the climax of the play.
CAMAE
Female, African-American. Actress must play 21. At first a young woman sent to King’s room to bring cigarettes, Camae reveals herself to be an “angel” of sorts. She is beautiful, sexy, flirtatious, wise in a much older more grounded way than she appears. She can be silly, and joyous, and deeply serious.
