PEREGRINE THEATRE ENSEMBLE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR “THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED” AND “THE FULL MONTY” Provincetown, Ma
Peregrine Theatre Ensemble will hold Boston and Provincetown auditions in April for there 2016 summer season. Boston auditions will be on Monday, April 4th from 6:00pm – 10:30pm in Room T001 at The Boston Conservatory, 31 Hemenway Street Boston, Ma 02215. Please use the main entrance and check in with the Peregrine Theatre representative in the lobby. Local Provincetown auditions will be Monday, April 18th from 6pm – 9pm at the Provincetown Theater located at 238 Bradford Street Provincetown, MA 02657.
Auditions are in 5-minute time slots by appointment. Please email your headshot and resume to PeregrineTheatre@gmail.com and request your preferred date, time and location. Those who do not have an appointment on the day of the audition are welcome to walk-in and will be seen on a first come first served basis as time permits. A monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Salary is based on role cast. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend. Those with local Cape Cod housing are strongly encouraged to attend.
Actors please bring a headshot/resume to the audition. Those auditioning for the musical should prepare a song in the style of the show as well as a short contemporary monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. Those auditioning for only Little Dog Laughed please prepare a 2-minute contemporary monologue. These auditions will also serve as callbacks so you may be asked to stay read sides or learn a song from the musical, which will be provided to you at that time. Please be available to stay longer than your allotted time if asked. Seeking actors for the following roles:

Diane (30-40) –cast- seeking possible understudyAgent. Acerbic, cynical, driven, and very, VERY Hollywood. The only person more important than her client Mitchell is herself. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly, though also knows when she needs them.
Mitchell (25-35) Hollywood star on the rise. Closeted homosexual torn between what he truly wants and what other people want from him. Be aware that this character requires nudity on stage.
Alex (20-25) NYC rent boy. Alex is very naïve for someone who has experienced so much. He is jaded, yet remarkably idealistic. Love interest for Mitchell. He is also boyfriend/best friend/only friend to Ellen. Be aware that this character requires nudity on stage. (possibly seeking actor to double this role with the character ETHAN in The Full Monty)
Ellen (20-25) NYC party girl. Ellen has made a living being kept by much older men, while still sleeping with Alex. Tough yet innocent, and just damaged enough to make her interesting.
*IMPORTANT* Both male characters are required to be completely nude for a brief period on stage. The playwright does not allow this to be cut. Please do not consider auditioning for these roles if you have any problem with this. No nudity is involved for the female characters.
Callbacks for all roles will be cold readings from the script.

Jerry Lukowski* - (30-40) Vocal range: Rock Tenor B2-Db5. An unemployed mill worker.Very strong singing across genres, including a controlled and pretty falsetto, is required. Jerry is a complex emotional character with serious heart and charisma, and genuine tenderness for his son. His story is central to the show.
Dave Bukatinsky* - (30-40) Vocal range: Lyric Tenor with strong falsetto. B2-Db5. An unemployed mill worker. Jerry’s best friend, he is often swept along in Jerry’s plans unwittingly. He struggles with unemployment and its effect on his marriage. A lovable, good-natured soul with body weight and self-esteem issues. Body type: overweight relative to the other Monty Menit is a key component of the character. Strong singer required.
Malcom MacGregor* - (25-40) Vocal range: High Tenor. Smooth falsetto. C#3-E5. An unemployed mill worker. Shy. Tries to hide that he is gay. “I’m a complete loser that lives at home with his mother.”... His frank self-assessment neglects to mention his sweetness and sincerity. Beautiful voice required. On the thin side.
Noah “Horse” T. Simmons* - (45+) Vocal range: Baritone/Tenor. D3-Bb5. A retired AfricanAmerican mill worker: Sing and dances the funky show-stopping “Big Black Man.” Excellent mover with great deadpan comedy. Harold Nichols* - (35-50) Vocal range: High Baritone/Tenor. F2-Bb4. An unemployed mill supervisor. Harold’s doting on his wife extends to covering up his unemployment. Must be able to move well, as he becomes the dance teacher for the guys.
Ethan Girard* - (20-30) Vocal range: High Baritone/Tenor. F2-Bb5. An unemployed mill worker. Ethan remains an optimist while struggling with unemployment, his sexuality and lack of friends. Discovers true friendship when he joins the guys in their quest. (possibly seeking actor to double this role with the character ALEX in Little Dog Laughed)
Buddy “Keno” Walsh* - (20 – 40) Handsome and experienced gay male stripper. His show opening Chippendale-esque performance for the Buffalo ladies bookends the beginning of the show with the final “Let it Go”. Sings last song.
Pam Lukowski – (25-35) Vocal range: Alto G3-A5. Jerry’s estranged ex-wife. She earnestly wants Jerry to be an active parent for Nathan, but wrestles with her reservations about his character. Powerfully connected performer required.
Georgie Bukantinsky – (30-40) Vocal range: High Alto/broad Mezzo belter. F3-A5. Dave’s wife. A warm, down-to-earth soul that isn’t afraid to kick up her heels. Her exuberance opens the show and sets the pace and mood perfectly. Powerful songs showcase her singing.
Teddy Slaughter – (30-40) Fiancé to Pam. The opposite of Jerry: clean-cut, well off. Typical high executive type and somewhat arrogant. He will sing the last song with the cast.
Estelle Genovese – (20-35) Jerry’s girlfriend. Her character is the opposite of Pam. Young, slightly naive but strong in her will. Male and Female ensemble – (20-45) May double from leads. Playing different characters from the town and will sing in certain numbers.
Note for The Full Monty Men and Keno: If you are auditioning for these roles, you will need to be comfortable enough with your body type to perform on stage in your underwear, a G-string and a last-second scene where you will be fully nude. Please wear comfortable clothing during auditions that reveal your overall body shape accurately. There will be NO nudity at these auditions.
