Society of the Educational Arts, Inc. (Teatro SEA) is looking for singers/actors for its NEW production: The Glory, A Latin Cabaret.
PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION
Casting a heavenly musical celebration of Cuba’s La Sonora Matancera and it’s stars: Myrta Silva, Daniel Santos and Celia Cruz. A musical revue that honors the late legendary superstars of Latin Cabaret from the Caribbean. Producer states: This show transports audiences to a heavenly realm where Myrta Silva and Daniel Santos are the stars of a nightclub emceed by Archangel Camacho. One night, Celia Cruz arrives and wants to share the stage with them, which kick-starts this humorous drama. It turns into a memorable night as they sing their greatest hits. A live orchestra, singers, puppets and a little celestial magic, make this show a hit in heaven.
REHEARSAL AND PRODUCTION DATES & LOCATIONS
Rehearses between Oct. 1-Nov. 12; runs Nov. 13-15, 20-22, 27-29, and Dec. 4-6. at Teatro SEA in NYC.
Tentative rehearsal dates: Oct. 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 and 30 at6pm. Nov. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 at 6pm. Nov. 10, 11 and 12 at 7pm.
SEEKING TALENT
Myrta Silva: (Female - Lead) (Sept. 11, 1927 – Dec. 2, 1987) was a Puerto Rican singer, composer and television producer who was known affectionately as La Gorda De Oro. Note: you must sound like her.
Celia Cruz: (Female-Lead) (Oct. 21, 1925 – July 16, 2003) was a Cuban-American salsa singer/performer of Afro-Cuban descent. One of the most popular salsa artists of the 20th century, she earned 23 gold albums. She was renowned internationally as the Queen of Salsa, La Guarachera de Cuba, as well as The Queen of Latin Music. Note: You must sound like her.
Daniel Santos: (Male-Lead) (Feb. 5, 1916 – Nov. 27, 1992) was a singer and composer of boleros, and an overall performer of multiple Caribbean music genres, including guaracha, plena and rumba. Over the course of his career he adopted several names created by the public and became known as El Jefe and El Inquieto Anacobero. Note: you must sound like him.

AUDITION & SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
To schedule an appointment, call (212) 529-1545. Bring picture & resume. All performers must be able to speak/sing in Spanish and English. Prepare a short monologue. Singers must prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo or ballad. Note: If the song is in Spanish, then the monologue must be in English and vice-versa. Actors are required to prepare a song formerly sung by the artist they are auditioning for.
