Auditions for The Fox on the Fairway by Ken Ludwig
The Windham Theatre Guild is holding auditions for The Fox on the Fairway on Monday and Wednesday, July 6 & 8, 2015 at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 199 Valley Street in Willimantic. This is a tribute from Broadway’s reigning comic writer Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s. The Fox On the Fairway takes you on a hilarious romp that pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with... golf.
The play is a comedy-farce, written in the style of the classic farces of the 30's and 40's. The cast truly works as an ensemble and performers need to know how to shine on stage while making fellow performers shine as well. All characters have an element of physicality to them, so auditioners need to be able bodied. Come be a part of the fun!
