Everyone knows a little Shakespeare. “To be or not to be” spoken by Hamlet; “Double, double toil and trouble” spoken by Macbeth’s witches; “The quality of mercy is not strained” spoken by Portia in The Merchant of Venice. A cadre of Bifocals actors will present a selection of your favorite best-known scenes and soliloquies from Shakespeare’s timeless body of work.
Touring January 29-February 16, 2018. At CAT February 12, 2:30 and 8p.
Auditions for the Shakespeare Shorts tour will be held on Monday, November 20 at 7p and Tuesday, November 21 at 1p at CAT Theatre, 319 North Wilkinson Road.
Casting will be for 10 to 12 people in a roughly even mix of men and women, all ethnicities, age 50 and better. The touring program will include well-known scenes and soliloquies from Shakespeare’s works.
Bring a one- to two-minute monologue and be prepared to read from scenes, as well. No previous Shakespeare experience required. All actors paid.
Rehearsals begin November 27 for a January 29 -February 16 tour to senior facilities in the greater Richmond area.
