THE BEST GOODBYE

SYNOPSIS:
Young adults caught up in the early 90s rap and hip-hop music scene break into the home of a recently deceased recording artist while they navigate their tumultuous and violence-filled worlds.
CHARACTERS (Seeking all parts):
RUDO (Male, 18-25, African American). Young spirited man, loves rap, hip hop. Finding his voice. Actor must Rap in the show.
CAESAR (Male, 18-25, Latino). Rudo's best friend. Brother of Sabina. Mischievous. Actor must Rap in the show.
OZ (Male 20-30, African American). A little older than his friends, the clown of the group. Loves to eat. Actor must Beat Box in the show.
SABINA (Female 20s). Tough girl that gets into trouble. Great sense of humor and strong backbone. R&B singer. Actor sings and raps in the show.
CODY (Male, 20s-30s) Local gangster. Tough, Intimidating, abusive, the bad guy.
WILSON (male, 50-60s, African American). Ghost of home. Old school Jazz Guitarist and poet.
PRODUCTION DETAILS:
Rehearsals for THE BEST GOODBYE tentatively begin June 1, 2016
The production will run July 22 - August 6, 2016 at the 4545 Park Blvd BlackBox Space.
A small stipend will be provided ($100, with a possible small increase contingent upon ticket sales) to all performers cast.
Auditions will take place on May 20th with 15-minute time spots available from 5:30pm-10pm.
Call backs will be held May 22nd from 10am-4pm (you most likely will not be called for the whole duration of the callback).
Please make sure your schedule is mostly available starting June 1st if you would like to be considered for THE BEST GOODBYE.
Rehearsals will take place in the evenings on weekdays and during the late morning/early afternoon most weekends. A tentative rehearsal calendar will be available at auditions.

If you are unavailable for the May 20th audition but would still like to audition, a handful of open calls spots will be held before the callback, but space is limited.
