STRINGS - Showcase

NYC playwright and director Charles Curtis is now casting for the world premiere of his newest work, STRINGS, for NYC opening and possible 2015 tour.

"Strings" follows one man’s road to execution, and hopefully, another’s toward redemption. With less than 24 hrs until “Man’s” hearing and execution, the only person that wants Man to live is his brand new lawyer, Derek. While Derek prepares to defend a man he just met, they each find that they some things are inescapable.

Man – African American, 20-40. Visibly dangerous, deceptively intelligent. Methodical. Not your typical stereotype.

Derek – Caucasian, 25-35. Witty, intelligent, a bit of a prick. Lawyer with a heart, if you can find it.

Tech and Performance: Dec 19 NYC premiere with 1-2 performances a week afterwards, running open ended based on availability. Rehearsals Nov – Mid December. Pay per performance.

Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday, November 2-3, 2014, and are by appointment only. You will be asked to perform a monologue from any work of your choosing. Please email headshot and resume to charlescurtis@live.com to schedule an audition.
