STATEN ISLAND! THE MUSICAL is the romantic comedy you’ve been waiting for. The pandemic may have hit our community hard, but we’re determined to bring everyone back together with the opportunity to laugh at ourselves and our neighbors. In this original musical comedy written and created by native Staten Islanders Matt Izzo and Sal Volpe, borough residents burst into song and dance as they explore well-known locations across Richmond County where they may encounter a romance on the ferry or a betrayal at the mall. Are dancing turkeys, spot-saving traffic cones, and some charismatic mall walkers enough to keep our characters in this beloved borough, or is it time for them to cross the bridge to a new terrain known as New Jersey? Come audition for our memorable show that happens in a forgotten borough this summer!
This will be a LIVE outdoor performance, with the location to be announced shortly after casting. Rehearsals will be split between Zoom and in-person, and they will be broken down to limit the amount of participants per COVID-19 guidelines.
All roles are open, and we highly encourage people of all genders, races, and ethnicities (18+) to audition!
