The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center, Located at 931 Montauk Highway, Oakdale, NY, will be holding auditions for SISTER ACT, Monday, December 12th and Tuesday, December 13th at 730p. Please prepare 16 bars of music from the show. All roles are open for SISTER ACT. Diversity is encouraged and all ethnic groups are welcome to audition!

Character Breakdown
Deloris Van Cartier (Age Range: 20 - 35) She is a loud brash character with great comedy timing, excellent singing voice and excellent movement required. This is usually an African-American role but has also been cast as a Caucasian Bronx or Hispanic/Mexican character. Alto/mezzo (vocal range E3 (below middle C) - F#5)
Eddie (Age Range: 20 - 35) He is a sweet nervous policeman who dreams of being confident and brave. Good vocals and excellent movement are required. Tenor (vocal range Ab2 - B4)
Curtis (Age Range: 25 - 45) A Gangster club owner who is very smooth, but calculating and violent. Good vocals and minimal movement required. A Barry White type voice would be preferable. High baritone (vocal range A2 - Ab4)
Mother Superior (Age Range: 35 - 70) Firm but fair Senior Nun. Dignified and ladylike. Good vocals with minimal movement required. Alto (vocal range D3 - E5)
Sister Mary Robert (Age Range: 16 - 30) A young and innocent postulant, shy and quiet until Deloris brings out the best in her. Excellent vocals (a solid ‘belt voice’) and good movement required. Mezzo/soprano with belt vocal range from F#3 (below middle C) - A5
Monsignor O’Hara (Age Range: 40 - 70) A gentle and kind man who is a bored and uninspired preacher. However he becomes more confident taking on a Las Vegas Compere style character. Not a singing or dancing role.
Sister Mary Patrick (Age Range: 18 -30) A fun and enthusiastic nun, larger than life character, known for enjoying every minute and, more importantly, every food. Excellent vocals and good movement required. Soprano (vocal range G3 - E6)
Sister Mary Lazarus (Age Range: 50 -70) An older, crabby choir mistress, snappy and seemingly grumpy. Has to rap and move quiet well. Alto (vocal range F3 - B4) J
oey (Age Range: 20 - 50) One of Curtis thugs, a gentle giant, wants to please Curtis and be dangerous too but isn’t naturally capable. Good vocals and movement required. Tenor (vocal range Bb2 - Eb5). Strong falsetto would be an advantage.
TJ (Age Range: 16 - 25) Curtis’ nephew and part of the gang. A young - dumb character. Good vocals and movement required. Tenor (vocal range Db3-Eb5)
Pablo (Age Range: 20 - 45) Another of Curtis’ thugs. Speaks mostly Spanish. Thinks he’s a “love god! Good vocals and movement required. High tenor (vocal range C4-F5). Strong falsetto would be an advantage.
Michelle & Tina (Age Range: 20 - 30) Backing vocalist in Curtis’ club. Excellent vocals and movement required. Will also be part of the Onstage Ensemble Mezzo sopranos (vocal ranges Ab3-F5)
Ernie One of Curtis’ gangsters; must be able to play a character role. Will also be part of the Onstage Ensemble. Not a singing or dancing role.
Nuns x11 (Age Range: Any) Good vocals and movement required.
Female Ensemble (Characters 20 - 55) We are seeking great singers and strong movers of all types, shapes, and sizes. You should have the ability to play various characters and understudy principal roles. All need very strong legit and belt voices.
Male Ensemble (Characters 20 – 55) We are seeking great singers and strong movers of all types, shapes, and sizes. You should have the ability to play various characters and understudy principal roles. Featured Ensemble Roles Include: Bar Cleaners (Spanish speaking), Bar Patron, Bar Tender, Cab Driver, Cops, Drag Queen, and Pool Player.
