Auditions by appointment for ages 5-75+ Thursday January 18th and Friday January 19th from 6-8:30 PM in the Oceanic Conference Room 10731 International Dr Orlando, FL.

Callbacks by invitation only will take place Saturday January 20th in the Oceanic Conference Room 10731 International Dr Orlando, FL in the afternoon - early evening.
For the auditions please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show (musical theatre that shows personality), bring either an instrumental track or sheet music in the correct key. You are welcome to sing from the show. A Bluetooth speaker and accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to learn a short dance
Performances April 12th-21st (6 shows over two weekends)
Rehearsals begin on or around January 24th Mon-Thurs 6:30-9:30/10 PM in the Rivers conference room and the Oceanic conference room 10771 International Dr and 10731 International Dr Orlando, FL. Children will not be kept past 9 PM until tech week

THE CAT IN THE HAT - ?All Genders, All Ethnicities, All body types. Ages 18-65+ the story's omniscient narrator, he is fun-loving and enjoys rhyming; pops up throughout the story to help the audience; wise and attentive; ripe for a strong singer who can move with an incomparable stage presence and improv ability
JOJO? - All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 7-14. the Mayor's son, he is a Who who is always finding trouble; bright, creative, and inadvertently mischievous; gets pulled into the story by the Cat; possesses a wildly expansive imagination and finds solace in his friendship with Horton. Strong singer and acto
HORTON? - All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 16-50. the story's main character, he is a compassionate and gentle elephant; commonly misunderstood because of his larger size; he is protective and loving of all creatures in the jungle. Strong actor and singer who has great comedic timing but can also play heart-wrenching dramatic moments. Strong singer and actor
GERTRUDE MCFUZZ -? All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 16-50. Horton's one-feathered-tail bird neighbor; Gertrude is sweet and timid; though kind and loyal, she is also self-conscious of her shortfalls. Strong actor and singer with wonderful comedic timing
MAYZIE LABIRD? - All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 16-50. the most beautiful bird in all of the jungle; oblivious to her self-centered ways, she relies on her talent of manipulation, and intoxicating beauty, to navigate her way through life; strong singer and dancer with wonderful comedic timing.
MR. MAYOR ?- All ethnicities, All Genders, All body types. Ages 25-75 Mayor of Whoville and JoJo’s dad; he and his wife try hard to raise a difficult child in a difficult world; they may get aggravated with JoJo, but they love him dearly and try to do the right thing, even if it turns out to be a mistake. Strong actor and singer.
MRS MAYOR - All ethnicities, All genders. All body types. Ages 25-75. the Mayor’s Wife and JoJo’s mom; she and her husband try hard to raise a difficult child in a difficult world; they may get aggravated with JoJo, but they love him dearly and try to do the right thing, even if it turns out to be a mistake. Strong actor and singer with good comedic timing.

BIRD GIRLS - All ethnicities, All genders, All body types. Ages 10-50. Sassy birds and citizens of the Jungle of Nool; the popular girls in any school--a clique of pretty, self-centered back-up birds who do whatever Mayzie does; they often act as storytellers, picking up where The Cat left off; a big presence throughout the evening. Great singers and dancers.
GENERAL GENGHIS KHAN SCHMIDT? - All genders, All ethniticities, All body types. Ages 10-75. a general who is bursting with pride at the military academy he runs, and the boys he turns out; he is not mean; he honestly thinks he is doing the right thing and is making the world a better place; extremely strong singer and actor with amazing comedic timing.
THE WICKERSHAMS - All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 10-50. monkey brothers and citizens of the Jungle of Nool; these are not bad guys--they're simply a lot like kids who tease, play pranks, and get a kick out of making mischief, although often at others' expense; they side with the Sour Kangaroo in her campaign against Horton and cause more trouble for poor Horton. Strong singers who move. Must have great personalities and good comedic timing.
THING 1 and THING 2 - All Genders, All ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-75+. the Cat’s main helpers and an extension of his personality; the essence of mischief, fun, and imagination; they assist The Cat in many ways, either playing small roles or causing havoc; they have a presence in almost every scene. Strong singers and movers with good comic ability
BABY KANGAROO - All genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-15. a baby kangaroo and a citizen of the Jungle of Nool; she is the Sour Kangaroo’s daughter and does whatever her mother does. She’s very sassy with lots of attitude. Good singer/actor with comic abilit
YERTLE THE TURTLE? - All genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-75+. Yertle the Turtle who presides over Horton's trial; strong singer and actor who will double in the ensemble
THE GRINCH? - All genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-75+. one of the most iconic characters in the Seussiverse; featured in the Who sequences. Strong dramatic actor with presence. Will double in the ensemble
CINDY LOU WHO- All genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-15. the tiny who who changed the Grinch’s heart. Strong singer and actor.
CADETS - All genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-75+ cadets of General Schmitz’s Military Academy; they bully JoJo; not mean, just doing what they are told to do. Strong singer/movers. Will double as Whos or Jungle Creatures.
THE WHOS - All Genders, all ethnicities, all body types. Ages 5-75+. citizens of Whoville on the Planet of Who, including, but not limited to, Grandpa Who, Grandma Who, and others; they're a lot like you and me only so small as to be invisible; they live in fear that their planet is in trouble. Strong singer/actors who move well and are great with harmonies . Will be featured in the Who sequences and as ensemble members throughout
CITIZENS OF THE JUNGLE OF NOOL - All genders, all ethnicities, all Body types. Ages 5-75+. Different animals that occupy the Jungle of Nool. May double as fish and other creatures in featured numbers. Strong singers and actors.
LRT is a non paying community theater but tips will be collected at performances and divided amongst the actors.
