Montevallo Main Street Players Auditions
Montevallo Main Street Players would like to announce Auditions for our Fall performance of ‘Sanders Family Christmas’ based on the book by Connie Ray, Conceived by Alan Bailey, with Musical Arrangements by John Foley and Gary Fagan. Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French.
This musical comedy is the sequel to the acclaimed ‘Smoke on the Mountain’ which MMSP performed in 2013. The setting for ‘Sanders Family Christmas’ is the same church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist, we joined them in before. The timeline is three years later on December 24th, just eighteen days after Pearl Harbor and FDR’s declaration of war. This is the last performance before the war forces the group to disband.
The cast calls for 4 males aged 20s-40s and 3 females aged 20s-40s. This is a musical and vocals are required for almost all cast members. We also encourage actor musicians to be a part of this show to add more depth and texture to the music.
We request that a piece of prepared music is brought to the auditions, as well. This could either be a piece you perform or music we can play through our system for you to sing along with.
