Oyster Mill Playhouse To Hold Theatre Auditions
The Oyster Mill Playhouse will hold auditions February 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. for "Superior Donuts" by Tracy Letts, the third production of its 41st season. No pre-registration, or previous acting experience is required. The play, directed by Paul Hood, calls for a cast of seven men and two women. Candidate will read from the script at the theater. Please note that there are several instances of profanity in this script which will not be deleted. Candidates for the roles of Arthur and Luther will be asked to participate in a movement audition.
Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This comedy-drama by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tracy Letts explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship.
