RACE - The Players Guild of Leonia
The Players Guild of Leonia announces auditions for RACE by David Mamet. Directed by Claudia MacDermott. Sunday, November 10th, Monday, November 11th (Veterans Day), Tuesday, November 12th at The Players Guild of Leonia Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia, NJ. Call backs on Thursday, November 14th. All at 7:30 pm. Performances January 24th thru February 9th. Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
The scene is a law office. The time is recent. The characters: Jack Lawson and Henry (Hank) Brown are law partners for 20 years. Jack is a white man in his 40's. Henry is a black man in his 40's; Charles Strickland, a white man in his 40's, accused of raping a black woman; Susan, a black woman in her 20's. She is a young attorney who works for Lawson and Brown.
David Mamet is the author of many screenplays (The Spanish Prisoner, American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross) and stage plays (Speed-the-Plow, Sexual Perversity in Chicago,Oleanna).
