The voices of Trenton come alive in this follow-up to 2010’s Trenton Lights. This time, the subject is race and we’ve crafted this special presentation that examines one of America’s most controversial topics through the intelligent, and occasionally humorous, stories that Trenton’s community has in abundance. This piece is composed strictly from the voices of this community. Each performance will conclude with a conversation involving community activists, scholars, artists, social and environmental justice experts, youth and audience members.
SEEKING:
We hope to see diverse, dynamic performers who are interested in engaging with the Trenton community to bring these true stories to life. Actors should be inventive, collaborative, and honest.
CAUCASIAN FEMALE: Age 35-65.
HISPANIC FEMALE: Age 40-65.
AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE: One African-American Female 20s-30s; one African-American Female 40s-60s.
CAUCASIAN MALE: Age 40-65.
ASIAN MALE: Filipino or Chinese. Age 30-60.
HISPANIC MALE: Age 20-35.
AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALE: One African-American Male 20s-30s; one African-American Male 40s-60s.
