Accompanist provided. Housing provided for out of town performers during run of show. Pirates will rehearse and run during the month of July. Performances Thur, Fri, Sat 8:00, Sat & Sun 2:00. All roles salaried. Character descriptions – Pirates of Penzance FREDERIC - Age 21 – Tenor - Cast MABEL- Age 18-25 Coloratura Soprano A young, very lovely daughter of Major General Stanley. PIRATE KING- Age 20’s – 30’s Bass Baritone Very athletic and a good mover. MAJOR GENERAL STANLEY Age 50 plus. Baritone. Mabel’s father. Excellent diction! RUTH - 50ish Great energy of delivery and comic timing. SAMUEL Baritone - The Pirate King’s right hand man. SERGEANT OF POLICE – Bass. Comic role. Good mover. EDITH, KATE AND ISABEL Age 16 – and up Soprano, MezzoMabel’s sisters, each with a unique personality. CHORUS OF PIRATE/POLICE Age older teens and up. Men & Women. (We will be seeking only non-union performers for the rest of the season.)
