CHARACTERS
PIPPIN - M (18-21) - Our story's young and confused protagonist. He is longing to find his purpose in life. Naive, innocent, and discontent.
LEADING PLAYER - M/F/NB (Mid 20s-early 50s) – (A knowledge of magic and illusion is desired but not necessary) The ultimate 'ring leader.' Masterfully charming and manipulative, the Leading Player is a chameleon of sorts.
CHARLES- M (50-70) – Pippin's demanding father. As the King of the Holy Roman Empire, Charlemagne is more comfortable wielding a sword than breaking bread. He wears his years with great pride.
FASTRADA - F(30-50) – Pippin's conniving stepmother. A seductress, who is no stranger to deceit and betrayal, she is both sexy and smart. Skilled at using her sexual appeal to benefit her and her son.
LEWIS - M (18-30) – Pippin's half-brother. Vain and vacant with an impressive physique, he is a cross between a muscle-head and an ill-developed mama's boy. A pawn in Fastrada's scheme.
BERTHE - F (66) – Pippin's saucy grandmother. A brassy broad full of wisdom, grace, and sass.
CATHERINE- F (25-35) – A young widow and mother. She is a beautiful and a hopeless romantic, who possesses graceful elegance.
THEO - M (6-10) – Catherine's son.
FEATURED DANCER - M/F/NB (18+) - Featured Dancers within the ensemble.
FEATURED MAGICIAN - M/F/NB (18+) - Featured Magicians within the ensemble.
ENSEMBLE - M/F/NB (Any Age) - Members of a traveling troupe of players, ever present, taking on various roles such as Charlemagne's Army, Monks, Nobility, Peasants, etc.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.
