ORLANDO SHAKESPEARE THEATER ANNOUNCES OPEN CALL AUDITIONS FOR PLAYFEST
Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF will hold open call auditions for PlayFest on Sunday, September 27 and Monday, September 28, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
PlayFest 2015, the thirteenth incarnation of the annual festival, features readings of seven new plays fromNovember 5-8, 2015. Each play receives thirteen hours of rehearsal with the director and playwright for a script-in-hand reading. A stipend will be provided to all actors. Orlando Shakespeare Theater will follow the Equity Staged Reading Guidelines for this event. AEA and non-union actors are welcome and will be seen throughout each day. Actors may schedule audition appointments through
www.orlandoshakes.org/auditions. Walkups are also welcome and will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please prepare one contemporary monologue or side for the audition, as well as one copy of your headshot and resume. For consideration for The Adventures of Pericles, actors should also prepare one Shakespearean monologue. Sides will be available at
