TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for
Peter and the Starcatcher
October 3 and 4
TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast for Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, from Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's novel. The call is seeking one woman (age 18 to 25) and 11 men (ages 18 to 50).
Peter and the Starcatcher is a grownup's prequel to Peter Pan filled with magic and hilarity. It upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up. In this five-time Tony Award-winning play, ten actors play more than 100 characters.
This is an open audition for both amateur and professional actors and will be held on Mondayand Tuesday October 3 and 4 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford, CT (next to the CVS).
Actors do not have to be the ages listed but must be able to believably play within the ranges specified. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. Character breakdowns? are available? and auditions sides will be available at
Note that a British or upper-class affectation is requested for the audition. Those coming to audition should prepare 16-32 bars of a song that shows your range and acting ability. An accompanist will be provided. Non-singing roles need not prepare a vocal audition. This is a play with music, so strong vocal ability is not as important as acting skills and ability to play multiple roles where required.
TheatreWorks is an award-winning, non-Equity theatre company, named Best Community Theater in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. The Theatre is located at 5 Brookside Avenue , just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford , CT. Parking is located behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East Street, New Milford.
