ABOUT THE PLAY:
Set in the fall of 1910, Out of the Apple Orchard follows recent immigrants to America who move from the Lower East Side to the Catskills. With a sick father and food growing scarce, 12-year-old Adam steals apples from a nearby orchard. It is an unforgettable story about hunger, healing, and new beginnings, capturing the essence of the Jewish High Holidays.
This family-oriented play is perfectly suited and desirable for a variety of Jewish programming and Day Schools. It highlights Jewish Immigrant History, Jewish American History and even the Catskills - all with a taste of Yiddishkeit.
Our goal is to combine our Annual High Holiday play with a dynamic curriculum developed by a team of innovative educators.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
To submit please send your resume, headshot, and a link to a short monologue or acting reel to the play’s Casting Director, Meredith Hoddeson at
merhodcasting@gmail.com
If you would like to audition with a short excerpt from the play in lieu of a monologue, please feel free to contact us. Submissions DUE BY April 30th, 2022.
