FOCUS
OBCT PC is designed for those students ages 14-17 who are looking for a rigorous theater program that will hold them accountable while striving to break down walls and become vulnerable as an actor on stage.
Duration August 1- March 30
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Wednesday 6:00-8:00
Dance (6:00-7:00) Focus will be on technique encountered in the theatre environment. Terminology will be stressed as well as learning to be able to pick up choreography quickly and remembered independently. Weekly class will begin with Ballet barre, and also consists of increasing flexibility and conditioning. Each week different combinations will be taught allowing students to explore different dance genres encountered in Theatre. Monthly masterclasses from industry professionals both locally and nationally will be featured as well.
Acting- (7:00-8:00) Method acting/Improv/character analysis /subtext/intentions/objective/ cold reads/ theater exercises/monologues work/observation/physicality/genres /styles. Monthly guest artist in different disciplines from dialects/shakespeare/TV film/musical theater ect.
Thursday 6:00-8:30
THE PC PLAY
August 1, 2019 -October 12 ,2019
Rehearse (2) one act plays or 1 full length play.
3 shows from October 11-12 and 13th.
Show will be performed in the round at the OBCT black box theater.
THE PC MUSICAL
October 18-March 6
Rehearse Broadway Jr show
3 shows March 6,7,8 or March 13,14,15
Show will be performed in the round at the OBCT black box theater.
College Preparation
Will also help with preparing for college auditions with private coaching if applicable.
Outside activities.
Overnight or long weekend experiences to see shows or retreat.

What to prepare:
Performers should prepare to sing 60 seconds of a broadway song with accompaniment. They will need to prepare a 75 second monologue from a published play and come ready to dance and read from a script.
