OCEAN STATE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES
ADULT EQUITY AND NON-EQUITY AUDITIONS FOR
2015 SUMMER SEASON
Ocean State Theatre Company announces Open Equity and Non-Equity Adult Auditions for its 2015 summer productions of Rounding Third and Gypsy on Monday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Local talent is strongly encouraged to audition. Performers must be available for the following rehearsal and performance dates:
Rounding Third
Daytime rehearsals May 19 – May 30; day and evening rehearsals/performances June 1 – 21
The roles of Don and Michael have already been cast.
Looking for understudy and replacement only.
*Note: There is no ensemble for this show.
Gypsy
Daytime rehearsals June 23 – July 4; day and evening rehearsals/performances July 5 – August 2
*Note: All roles require very strong singers and actors. The roles of Rose and Herbie have already been cast.
Ensemble must be very strong singers and dancers. Several smaller roles will be cast from the ensemble.
Also looking for understudy and replacement for Rose and Herbie.
The schedule for Monday, May 4 will be as follows:
11-3 pm: Singing/Acting Auditions
5 pm: Men’s Dancing auditions begin
6 pm: Women’s Dancing auditions begin
The schedule for Wednesday, May 6 will be as follows:
10 am-2 pm: Singing/Acting Auditions
3 pm: Men’s Dancing auditions begin
4 pm: Women’s Dancing auditions begin
Auditions will be held at Ocean State Theatre located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, RI. Those auditioning should enter through the main lobby doors and bring their headshot or a recent photo and resume (if available) stapled together (back to back).
Singing/acting auditions: Please prepare two brief songs (one up-tempo and one ballad). Note that there may be time to perform one selection only. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose. No a cappella, tape recorders or CD players accepted. Some may be asked to stay for the dance call. Bring appropriate dancewear including character shoes (if you have them).
Dancing auditions: Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Wear appropriate dancewear and have character shoes. Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose. No a cappella, tape recorders or CD players accepted.
No appointments will be given to non-union actors. No appointment needed for dance audition. Members of Actors’ Equity only should email
Robert.Miller@ostcri.org beginning April 20, 2015 to schedule a singing/acting appointment. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout each audition day, as time permits.Doors open Monday at 10:30 am and Tuesday at 9:30 am.

The theatre is required to hire a minimum of two members of Actors’ Equity Association for
Rounding Third and five members, with at least two chorus contracts, for Gypsy.
All ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged to attend this audition.
