AUDITIONS FOR THE NOLA NYXETTES DANCE TROUPE ARE THIS SUNDAY

SUNDAY, JULY 12, 9AM-3PM HILTON RIVERSIDE MUST BE AT LEAST 21 (New Orleans, Louisiana, July 6, 2015) ---One of New Orleans’ hottest new dance troupes is holding auditions and are looking for ladies who can “kick it” with the best of them. The auditions will help form the new squad of Nyxettes who will sashay down St. Charles Avenue for the upcoming Mardi Gras season. “The top hats and tails bring an element of New York style dancing to Mardi Gras which New Orleans hasn’t ever really seen before the Nyxettes.” Said Nyxettes Director and Krewe of Nyx Captain, Julie Lea. “The Nyxettes share its colors of hot pink and black with Nyx so it’s definitely an extension of the Krewe which makes the dance troupe even more fun.” The troupe is looking for ladies with prior dance or cheer experience who can learn and perform a routine rather quickly. The Nyxettes will be performing in about seven Mardi Gras parades for the 2015-2016 season. A dance routine will be taught the day of auditions. Ladies will be given ample time to learn the dance routine before trying out. The 2015-2016 squad will be chosen on site. Auditions will be held at the Hilton Riverside Hotel, 2nd Floor Ballroom from 9:00am-3pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015. All ladies auditioning must be 21 or over. Doors will open at 8:30am. The Nola Nyxettes were founded in 2012 and made their debut in 2014 at the Krewe of Nyx Ball on February 1, 2014. The team has marched in the Krewes of Nyx, Iris, Thoth, Freret, King Arthur, Boo!, and Zulu. They have been seen on local networks such as WWL, WDSU, and Fox 8. The Nyxettes also performed at the New Orleans Pelicans pre game show. The Nola Nyxettes believe strongly in giving back to the city they love and strive to continuously enrich the City of New Orleans not only through entertainment, but through service as well.
