OPEN CALL AUDITIONS AT RIPLEY-GRIER STUDIOS, JULY 25th, 1-4pm. 520 8th Ave Studio 17H
Callbacks will be by appointment only at a later date.
SEEKING: Principal and ensemble roles for a new upcoming musical. Non-Equity. The show takes place in New York City on the eve of the 1920s, with a heavy emphasis on jazz music and classical styles of dance. Originally workshopped in Boston pre-pandemic, we are now casting for the show’s first run in New York. We are looking for both dancers who sing, and singers who dance. All ethnicities/genders welcome.
DANCERS: Must be proficient in ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles. Pointework is a plus for the ladies, but not required. Bring ballet flats and pointe shoes, if you have them.
SINGERS: Prepare 16-32 bars of a song that best showcases your voice. The show has a classical/big band feel to it, so we would prefer auditions that stay away from overly contemporary pieces.
ALL: You may be asked to stay and perform a monologue for us. Come prepared with a comedic OR dramatic monologue, no more than one minute long.
AGE RANGE: Must pass for 17-25.
IMPORTANT INFO: The show will rehearse on both Long Island and in Manhattan. The performances will be late December-- early January at the Landmark Theatre. There is no pay, although we can offer a considerable amount of exposure and the opportunity to be part of an original cast! Please bring a headshot and resume with you to the audition.
We ask that you submit the following form so we can provide you a specific time slot to audition for us. Due to space constraints and the ongoing nature of the pandemic, we CANNOT see anyone who does not submit this form:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSciifwg72zVffj_-hwW4xPg9hQNm5YrmMhHeyqnuI81XisMwA/viewform?usp=sf_link
