Auditions for MURDER AMONG FRIENDS at Town Players
Town Players of Newtown announces auditions for MURDER AMONG FRIENDS by Bob Barry on Sunday and Monday, February 28 & 29, from 7:30-9 PM.
Palmer Forrester - a vain but aging Broadway actor, his wealthy socialite wife, and his two-faced agent are spending New Year’s Eve in an elegant Grammercy Park duplex - yet it’s not all champagne, party hats and Dick Clark. Angela Forrester and Ted Cotton are lovers, who plan to murder Palmer during a staged robbery that night, leaving them free to marry. However, Palmer and Ted are also lovers, with a duplicate plan to do in Angela. A murder does occur – but not one of the planned ones!
The New York Times calls MURDER AMONG FRIENDS, “Clever, amusing, and very surprising.” It saw its Broadway debut in 1975, with an all-star cast that included Jack Cassidy as Palmer Forrester and Janet Leigh as Angela Forrester.
Terry Polvay of Sandy Hook will direct.
The production calls for four men and two women. If possible, actors should read the play in advance and be ready to read sides from the script. No appointment is necessary. All roles are available. Character descriptions are available at
