Asolo Rep to Host MORNING AFTER GRACE
Understudy Auditions

WHAT:

Asolo Repertory Theatre will host auditions on Wednesday, November 15 for understudies for its upcoming production of MORNING AFTER GRACE, directed by Peter Amster.

Seeking one female and two male non-equity actors for the following roles:

[ANGUS] – Early 60s-70. Male. Any Ethnicity. Retired human rights lawyer. Curmudgeonly and cantankerous, with a biting wit that’s a bit of a defense mechanism. Physically fit. Recently bereaved.

[ABIGAL] – Mid 50s-Mid 60s. Female. Any Ethnicity. Grief counselor. Attractive, assertive, and quirky, yet also well-mannered. Knows who she is and isn’t afraid to embrace it. An empathetic woman of many passions.

[OLLIE] – Early-Late 60s. Male. African American. Former major league baseball player – though he’s long past his playing days, should retain the vague outline of an athlete’s build. Robust, feels younger than he is. Extroverted, warm, and a bit of a gossip.

Understudies rehearsals will be held December 17, February 3 and February 17 from 9-11:30am. The play runs January 19 – March 4, 2018.

ABOUT MORNING AFTER GRACE

January 17–March 4
By CAREY CRIM
Directed by PETER AMSTER

Hilarious and heart-warming, this unconventional new comedy tackles love, loss, and coming to terms with growing old. After hooking up at a funeral, Angus and Abigail find themselves waking up the next morning wrapped in sheets on Angus’s sofa. Strangers just the day before, Abigail thinks she may finally be ready to take a chance on love, but Angus has a few issues to work through first. Enter next-door neighbor Ollie, a former Detroit Tigers baseball player who now enjoys golf and yoga. But nothing is as it seems with this trio and every disclosure reveals a new perspective. Set in a Florida retirement community not far from here, this charming and big-hearted comedy takes us on an unexpected journey toward a new lease on life.
