MORE MUSIC @ THE MOORE - Seattle Theatre Group

STG will be selecting the region’s most talented emerging artists spanning a variety of genres to be part of the 22nd Annual More Music @ The Moore (MM@M) on March 24, 2023. As part of the program, young artists receive the opportunity to learn through group collaborations, and by working directly with a nationally recognized music director. This year, Mike Elizondo, a GRAMMY-winning producer, songwriter, and musician returns to lead the program. Elizondo has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, Carrie Underwood, and Lin-Manuel Miranda on Hamilton and Encanto.

All musicians must be between the ages of 14–21 and from any musical style; MM@M is seeking a wide variety of genres, including world, cultural, popular, classical and contemporary music. Bands, ensembles, and soloists are all encouraged to audition. Once selected, in-person rehearsals are required—thus, being located within 30 miles of downtown Seattle is advised.

Artists will receive:

·Payment

·Mentorship from music industry leaders

·Opportunities for collaboration with peer and professional musicians

·Professional performance experience in a renowned venue with experienced crew

·Possible future performance opportunities including at the Paramount, Northwest Folklife Festival, and THING—STG's unique music and arts event in Port Townsend

·Highlights on STG’s social and newsletter platforms reaching 60,000+ people

·Professional photos and video

·Meals provided at rehearsals and performances

Audition FAQs for more information.

Previous MM@M participants have included Grammy-Award winning artist Macklemore, Benicio Bryant from “America’s Got Talent” and mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges who has graced the Seattle Opera and Metropolitan Opera stages. Historically, the culminating performance has mixed up styles onstage that have run the gamut from Japanese taiko to Jamaican reggae, American bluegrass, Tibetan opera, and Zimbabwean Marimba—just to name a few.
