Heads up! There will be open auditions at the Duke Energy Theater at Spirit Square on Sunday September 16 from 3:00 until 6:00. The companies represented at the audition will include Actor's Gym, Brand New Sheriff Productions, Charlotte's Off-Broadway, Chickspeare, COTU(Citizens of the Universe),Free Reign Theatre, Jesonda Productions , Legacy Theatre, PaperHouse Theatre, Shakespeare Carolina, and XOXO Theatre.
By August 20, there will be a link on the
metrolinatheatreassociation.net page to sign up for a time to audition. This audition is open to all levels of talent. Some of the theater companies pay stipends, some are all volunteer. Professionals and beginners are encouraged to attend. The companies represented have a diversity of missions and need talent from all backgrounds and ethnicity. Special needs performers are encouraged to attend. Do you think you have talent? We want to see you! So what do you need to do?
Go to the link on the Metrolina Theatre site which will be on the events page and sign up for a time. Prepare a monologue or two for a total duration time of two minutes. Some of the companies may provide sides to read from as well.There should be a link on the site where you can send your resume and headshot. However, if you should bring in your resume and headshot, there will be about twelve companies involved, so we would suggest bringing at least 14 copies. No song preparation is required for this audition process.
