AUDITIONS AT FIREHOUSE THEATRE
MAPLE & VINE

Saturday October 24 & Sunday October 25 (12-3pm)
Auditions will be at Firehouse Theatre, 1609 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA.
Synopsis: Yuppie power couple Katha and Ryu have achieved most of their dreams but Katha can't get a good night's sleep. When they're invited to join the SDO (Society for Dynamic Obsolescence) they decide to give it all up to pursue more traditional values.
Character Breakdown:
Katha: Caucasian Female, early/mid to late 30's.
Ryu: Asian Male, early/mid to late 30's
Dean: Caucasian Male, late 30's
Ellen: Caucasian Female, late 30's
Roger: Caucasian Male, mid to late 30's
Please bring a monologue, any style and period. Two contrasting monologues preferred but not required. and we may also have you read sides from the play.

Under the new artistic leadership of Joel Bassin, Firehouse's theme for 2015-2016 season RADICAL CHANGE. Change is everywhere. It's a constant in our lives and we cope with it in many ways. Richmond is on the cusp of change. The world is in a state of perpetual change. Drama hinges on reversal and recognition -- on something changing -- and theatre aspires to transform us with new perspectives and insight.

We're changing the way that we produce work, with an overhaul of the traditional five play season. We'll be programming in three different series -- PLAYS, FRINGE, and STUDIO. We're expanding the idea of theatre to include PERFORMANCE of all kinds, and we're creating a thriving hub of creative activity where artists and audiences can collectively engage in a diverse range of LIVE collective experiences.
