Main Street Theatre Works Announces Auditions for their



2016 Summer Season





Main Street Theatre Works announces auditions for their 2016 Summer Season at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson.

Auditions will be held Sunday, January 24th and Monday, January 25th, 6:30 – 9:30pm, at the Wilkerson Theatre inside the

California Stage complex, 1723 25th Street, Sacramento.





MSTW’s Summer season starts off with Nell Benjamin’s The Explorers Club, directed by Allen Pontes. The show runs Friday and Saturday nights, June 24th – July 23rd. Rehearsals begin mid-May and will be in Sacramento until tech week. There is a $150 gas stipend for each actor. Below is the breakdown for the audition. Sides available upon request.





Breakdown for The Explorers Club:



Lucius Fretway: a botanist & man of science, late 20s/early 30s



Phyllida Spotte-Hume/Countess Glamorgan: an anthropologist/Countess (played by same actress), late 20s/early 30s (petite)



Harry Percy: intrepid explorer, 30s - 40s



Luigi, a NaKong tribesman: open age but must be physically fit, agile and willing to wear body paint



Professor Cope: an herpetologist, 30s – 60s



Professor Sloane: an archeo-theologist, 30s – 60s



Professor Walling: a zoologist, 30s – 60s



Bebbe: an explorer/Irish assassin, 30s – 60s



Sir Bernard Humphries: private secretary to Queen Victoria, age open





The second show is The Last Lifeboat, written by Luke Yankee and directed by Julie Anchor. The show runs Friday and Saturday nights, August 12th – September 10th. Rehearsal begin the beginning of July and will be in in Sacramento until tech week. Each actor is paid a $150 gas stipend. Below is the breakdown of character ages, and sides will be available upon request.





Breakdown for The Last Lifeboat:



Looking for six actors with ages ranging from 20s to 60s



Looking for five actresses with ages ranging from 20s to 60s



With the exception of 3 characters (J. Bruce Ismay, Vivian and Florence), actors will play multiple characters.
