The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck is announcing an opportunity to join the cast of the CENTERstage production of Little Shop of Horrors. We are specifically seeking talent for the role of Ronnette, one of the dynamic trio acting as the occasional Greek Chorus in the storyline. Direction by Cheyenne See, Vocal Direction by Sean Matthew Whiteford, and Choreography by Cedric James.
About the Role:
- Character: Ronnette
- Key Qualities: Ronnette, alongside Crystal and Chiffon, serves as part of the street urchin trio. These characters are traditionally Black, young, hip, smart, and embody the essence of a Greek Chorus throughout the narrative. Their keen insight and vocal prowess add a unique layer to the unfolding story, making them crucial to both the musical's atmosphere and its commentary on the events occurring around the main characters.
- Requirements:
- trained, powerhouse vocalist with strong harmony capability, an apt ear for harmonies is essential.
- Strong mover
- Gender: Female
- Age: 20 to 35
- Vocal range: Top - F5, Bottom - Ab3
Performance Dates & Rehearsals:
- Show Dates: May 10 through May 26, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM.
- Rehearsals: Already in progress, typically held during the week at 7 PM and on weekends at 1 PM in Rhinebeck, NY. MUST have availability during the evenings of tech week, May 5-9.

For the role of Ronnette, we are ideally looking to cast a person of color to honor the essence and background of the character. However, we remain open to all ethnicities, seeking the right person who can embody the role with authenticity, vibrancy, and vocal excellence.
