LES BELLES SOEURS - Fells Point Corner Theatre
Fells Point Corner Theatre announces auditions for
Les Belles Soeurs
(The Sisters-in-Law)
By Michel Tremblay
Set in 1963 right here in Fells Point, the play calls for 15 actresses (ranging in age from 16 to 93) to come join the "pasting party": when a greedy matriarch wins a million green stamps and enlists all of her jealous neighbors to help paste them in their requisite books. Gossip is shared, accusations are made, and a surprise visit from a long-lost sister threatens to expose more than the women’s dirty laundry. A touching, hilarious, and poignant play, Les Belles Soeurs tells a working-class story of sisterhood, betrayal, and bingo! Imagine if John Waters wrote Steel Magnolias: heartfelt, kooky, and kind of tasteless.
